Two Weeks

I gave my two weeks today.  It. Felt. So. Good.  I have been with the bank for over 4 1/2 years and I am the only one still here from when I started.  Many co-workers have come and gone and now it is my turn.  The bank has been so good to me during my college years, but now it is time for me to go get a very adult job.  I have been filling out applications like a crazy person since December and was so frustrated that I only had a hand full of interviews and none of them ever turned in to anything.  Now I know why.  I have been so blessed over the past couple of days and so many prayers have been answered.  My new job is such a blessing in so many ways and gives me so much to look forward too.  The first thing I am asked when I tell people about my job is if it is in my field.  No it's not, but that is ok.  I went to school not knowing what I wanted to do.  I knew though, that I needed to get an education and I wanted to graduate with my bachelor's degree.  When it came time to choose, I chose a degree where the classes sounded interesting to me.  I loved school.  I realize even more now that I am done just how much I loved it.  Even though I will not be working in my field of study I believe that my degree has helped me to be offered such an amazing job.  I will miss those that I work with, but I am so excited to move forward.

Just Us and A Weekend

VERY rarely do husband and I get time to just ourselves. Time when we aren't distracted by homework, flying, work, internship, family, friends, or television. Time when it is just him and I. This weekend we got some of that time. We went to the Pizza Pie, just the two of us, and spent hours just talking about this and that. I loved it. We both agreed that we need more 'us' time. It was wonderful and there were many laughs and conversations shared. Oh how I love that boy.

The rest of the weekend was good too! We had our date night on Friday. We first ran some errands, which included getting Dave some boots! He asked for money for his birthday so that he could purchase himself some boots. I think the obsession of wanting boots started back around October when he borrowed his brother's for Halloween. Ever since he has insisted that he must get some of his own. I've never seen him so excited to go shopping. He even insisted that I try on the two different pairs that he was deciding between. I must admit that he looks pretty cute in them. :) After that we decided to go use the last of our wedding money. . .yes we still had a gift card to K-Mart from our wedding a year and a half ago. We had to use it to get Beauty and the Beast before it goes back in the vault. After we went to Archibald's at Gardner Village. I always forget about this restaurant, but it is one of my favorite's. On Saturday we went to a bridal show with Curt and Cassie. I had to convince Dave to come, but I think he enjoyed it more than I did! They had so many free food samples that both Curt and Dave seemed to be in heaven. After we went to help my parent's paint their house. It is looking so good! That night we went out to a movie with my parents. I love date nights with mom and dad! I love weekends and wish they wouldn't go by so stinkin' fast!

Easter Egg Hunt

We got to take the kids on an Easter egg hunt the Saturday before Easter! It was so fun seeing them running around and gathering all the eggs and prizes that they could! We have enjoyed having Sydney and Mason her in Utah for the past year. We actually get to be an aunt and uncle and we love it!

Becoming A Pilot

Becoming a pilot is frustrating! First you have to make sure that your instructor's schedule lines up with your schedule. This is why we left UVU. Even though they were expecting Davis to pay thousands and thousands of dollars they expected him to not have a job and be available 'whenever'. No income and a lot of outgoing money doesn't really work to well. . .Luckily we were able to find Leading Edge Aviation in West Jordan and they have been SOOO GOOD to work with him and his full time work schedule. He also is still able to take classes through UVU online and still graduate with his Bachelor's degree (this summer woot woot!) in Aviation. It has worked out very well. BUT. . .what else is frustrating is the weather and the fact that you just can't control it (darn it!). It seems like whenever he is scheduled to fly the weather is terrible. It is either too windy, cloudy, rainy, snowy. . .you name it, it always seems to happen when he is supposed to fly. But when he isn't scheduled to fly. . .wouldn't you know it! It is beautiful! This causes me to get frustrated and Davis trying to settle me down. I've tried to be patient with it, but it seems like it keeps happening over and over and over and over again. It wouldn't be a problem if we had all the time in the world and weren't trying to get all of his certifications and hours before next August. You see, it is prime time to get hired on by the airlines (thanks to all those baby boomers who are at retirement age) and will be until August 2013. The airlines are so desperate that they are cutting the required hours by more than half (kind of scary, but good for us!). So if any of you know how to control this dang windy weather that we have been having lately it would be greatly appreciated! I should just learn to look on the bright side of things. . .as soon as he finishes that means that he will just be taking me far, far away from my family. So i should just enjoy being here while I can right? (This was one of the reasons I kept breaking up with him SEVERAL times, because I knew I would most likely not be able to live by my family, but I quickly got over that once I realized I was madly in love with him and would die if I didn't spend the rest of forever with the boy :)) And anyone who knows my husband, knows that he is so passionate about flying! Like kid in a candy store or my family in Disneyland passionate! I have to support him with his dreams! And I am so glad that he LOVES (that is an understatement) what he does! I would hate for him to be stuck doing something he doesn't like. I feel so much better now! I know one day it will all be worth it! Have a great weekend :)

A 15 Year Old Boy

The boys got a gaming system for Christmas. This came after much debate with my mom. The first day of having the playstation went a little like

this. . . .

Mom: "Is there a way to turn off the language on that game? I will not have that in my house! (As she is regretting the decision of getting the gaming system) I guess we will be taking it back!

Later that night as we were watching The Help as a family . . .

Korbyn: Is there a way to turn off the language?!

A mom can never win with a fifteen year old boy in the house.
